WARNING: no kitchen. They’ve ripped it out and replaced it with nothing, but all advertising (including IN the the rooms) say self catering/kitchen is available. Instead, they expect you to pay full price for the restaurant & breakfast. Iceland is a very expensive place and people staying in a hostel cannot generally afford to eat out for every meal. Feels like the new owners just wanted to buy the restaurant and the hostel is a burden. No laundry, when again, advertising says otherwise. This means people

Location is awesome, can’t be beat. There’s not really a common area except for the bar/cafe downstairs, but I did get a free beer from reception! Probably don’t plan to do laundry here, it’s quite expensive and outside behind the building.
