Wanaka Bakpaka has a stunning view overlooking Lake Wanaka. Whether it be summer or winter the view of the Lake and Mountains show of whatever season you choose to visit Wanaka.
Our lounge and dinning room are T.V free which allows guests to relax, chat to fellow travelers or enjoy a nice glass of wine. We have a well stocked kitchen, a BBQ outside area and full Laundry facilities.
All of our rooms are clean and simple backpacker rooms. We offer a small amount of private rooms and mixed dorm and share rooms.
Wanaka has a range of activities to suit any traveler. You can simply sit by the Lakefront with a coffee and enjoy the views or Skydive over our beautiful mountains!

Excellent location at a very well run place with a great vib and comfortable bed. Spent 3 nights here and enjoyed every minute of my time here.

This is a great hostel to stay at. The staff is really nice and helpful, the wifi worked well and the location is great. It is located just a little up the hill, so it has a great view over the lake and town. The town center is in approx. 5-10 min walking distance. It could be a little bit cleaner especially the kitchen, but I felt this was also due to other guests simply not caring and leaving their dirty dishes around. Too few toilets in our opinion, it was manageable though.

Great hostel with outside areas to chill and a really good inside communal area with loads of tables and sofas. Bathrooms and kitchen were clean. Only a 5 minute walk down to the main lakefront. Lockers in rooms. Quite a large number of long term stayers in the hostel.
