Hola Ola is a traveler-owned and traveler-inspired hostel located in the idyllic and booming beach town of San Juan del Sur, Nicaragua. At Hola Ola, we have the simple yet powerful mission of connecting free souls with the things and people that make them feel alive. We are re not simply a place to stay. We are a spacious 30-bed hostel with equal affinity for surfing adventures, wild parties and chill pool days. Hola Olas balance between fun and tranquility makes it the ideal atmosphere for whatever you are looking to do.
Hola Ola is located a breezy 10 minutes beach-walk from the heart of town and close enough that everything that San Juan has to offer is at your fingertips, yet far enough to escape the noise of the town if you'd like.

Stayed in the AC dorm which was great. Beds are metal frame so they are a bit squeaky but overall pretty comfortable. Hostel is a bit of a walk out of town (10-15 minutes) but they have free shuttles in the evenings to take you to and from town which is great as safety can be a concern at night. Only big downside is that they don’t have a kitchen or communal fridge so you can’t cook.

Hostel is pretty far from town. They offer free shuttle service but run hourly (can leave unexpectedly before the hour so you may have to wait for the next one). No shuttle service in the morning. They charge 5% extra if you’re paying with credit card, unlike other hostels. Price is more than others downtown. Facilities are basic. Breakfast not included, unlike others.

brilliant hostel -- friendly staff and volunteers. location is not great as a short walk from beach where i got mugged at knife point in middle of day. staff all brilliant at helping me after. rub shuttles every evening to and from town for dinner/nightlife but would be good if they did daytime shuttles. surf trips ans night activities daily. felt like a big family. rooms far too warm, apparently one dorm has aircon but not clear, wouldve booked if known!! perfect but needs day shuttle!
