Hostal Vistaguila

We did not really understand all the good reviews here. The first night, there were a bunch of locals (not even accommodated) partying there since 10pm - 5am. I went to ask to the reception at 10:30 if this is going to be a full night thing, but said that she will ask them to stop. The music stopped (played it from phone only instead of speaker) but the noise was horrible until early morning when they turned on their motorbikes for 30 minutes until they left by 5. So considering this was supposed to be a chill and zen spot, it scattered my chakra instead. The rooms have metal doors and windows so there is no natural light and it is freezing cold there at night, also zero noise cancellation. We had a hole in the wall in the bathroom (removed brick) as a “window”, so we couldn’t even really isolate from the cold. The bathroom was also stinking a lot. The positive part was that the bed was quite comfy and there was a nice spot from the smoking area to watch the sunrise (if you happen to be awake at 4:30 due to party :)) and unless some other people, we did have warm water the whole stay. The owner was also a nice person. Overall, we were maybe very unlucky as the other reviews seem positive but we wouldn’t stay there again.

lovely property with great helpful smiley staff! the hot tubs aren't really in use.. or they don't make it obvious when and how to use them! we couldn't find anywhere as nice as this swe kept on extending!!

Lovely hostel, they have free yoga and meditation classes every morning, offer lots of activities, the owner is lovely and very helpful! Breakfast isn’t included but they can make a nice breakfast for pretty cheap, and if you’re vegan there is a nice vegan option! It’s very close to the town centre so it’s easy to find nice places for food, shopping and to get the Jeeps to Cocora Valley
