All in all, decent stay for the money. Room was quite updated inside (a pleasant surprise), despite fairly dated interior of common spaces of the hotel. However, my room did smell like cigarette smoke when I arrived despite it being noted as a non-smoking room. Hotel was unable to do anything about it the first night, although did have it cleaned again the next day and it was mostly fine after that. There was some street noise but I couldn't hear anything from rooms next to me.

Excellent place to stay at in Madrid. Really great location and although right in the middle of a busy area the rooms were very quiet and comfortable and clean. Pretty affordable as well! Only thing I wish is they would have had more group activities to meet other folks at the hostel, definitely much more of a hotel feel.
