Hostelworld.com today announced that they have expanded their existing video content by launching their new "How to" videos. Presented by Hostelworld.com editor Colm Hanratty, the videos give 5 tips on how to save money in the top cities around the world and will increase Hostelworld's presence on popular "How to…" video sites such as Howcast.com, 5min.com and more. Currently there are "How to" videos for London, New York, Paris, Amsterdam and Edinburgh with many more in the pipeline - http://www.hostelworld.com/videos/travel/how-to-videos.
Also new to the video section are city postcards which are short videos that allow viewers to catch a glimpse of the city's top attractions, bars and restaurants in three minutes or less. These are available for Cork, Stockholm and Zurich with many more cities on the horizon early on in 2010.
Hostelworld.com recognised the value of video content for their customers from an early stage and these two new types of video are a follow on from the Webby Award winning "10 Things You Need to Know About…" city guide videos and the hostel walk-through videos of 200 of the top hostels on Hostelworld.com.
Colm Hanratty, editor of Hostelworld.com and producer of the videos commented: "After the success of our city guide videos, we felt we needed to give our users a new type of video. As "How to…" video sites are increasingly popular, and everybody likes finding out how to save money due to the current economic climate, videos offering people invaluable tips on how to save money in the world's top cities seemed like the perfect option."
Hanratty is currently on the road in South America, where he is shooting more videos and gathering extra content for the site. Hostelworld.com has already identified South America as a massive destination for gap year students and backpackers so come 2010 this content should prove very useful for prospective visitors to the region.
